民謠轉向搖滾,唱出絕望與希望的掙扎:Jabin Law《A Bite of Hell》

完美的絕望並不存在,正如百分百的希望也不存在,兩者之間可會有平衡點?唱作歌手Jabin Law日前正式推出新專輯《A Bite of Hell》,就化身不同人物角色,〈Historians’ Bombs〉借原子彈之父思考戰爭中的創新與邪惡;〈Mr. Lee Is Trying To Sell His Soul〉是衣冠禽獸的雙面人故事;〈〈I Once (I Was A Fish)〉是被滅聲的欺凌受害者發出的微弱呼聲;絕望與希望的一體兩面--也許正是不少香港人正親身體會的掙扎。

繼《The Suns》(2016)和《But Tonight, The Boulevard Is Mine》(2018),來到第三張專輯,Jabin Law一改以往的民謠風,但並未刻意「變潮」,引入經典搖滾與Grunge--由民謠大佬Bob Dylan、Leonard Cohen轉向九十年代的代表之聲Nirvana與Smashing Pumpkins--骨子裡仍是他忠於某種「原真」聲音的精神。
